I had a Giant Swallowtail that has spent 8 months in its brown, bark-like chrysalis.
It was in a glass bowl, so I decided to leave it right where it was by the window, like it would do in nature.
It finally eclosed yesterday, and I danced around trying to find my camera.
I thought it looked a bit different earlier in week, and it just dropped out yesterday.
It amazes me that it is black with vivid yellow markings on the upper wings, and a gorgeous soft yellow on the lower side of wings.
