One fresh male Monarch on speed alternately guarding a neighbor's dark knight butterfly bush from skippers and black swallowtails and being chased by in turn by the skippers. I have about 20 white swamp milkweed as well as 3 butterflyweed plants. No sign of eggs as yet. I'm hoping the arrival of the male might mean a female or two will come to lay soon.
