What a welcome sight . . . the first Monarch butterfly of the year! Adult observed in an occasionally-mowed field, containing both Common and Swamp Milkweed. Also observed two Monarch larvae in the same field, both on Swamp Milkweed. Caterpillars reported separately from the adult.
