It was just flying around the flowers. Never saw it land so no clue if male or female. I have a 3 diff. kinds of milkweed growing so hoping to see larvae soon. I have never seen monarch larvae. Any insects, good or bad, have been few and far between this year. I'm blaming crop chemicals and a late freeze in April. I planted all kinds of bee/butterfly friendly flowers so hopefully they will start to show soon. I have only seen two black swallow tail larvae on my dill so far this year. I never saw the adults.
