Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 05/01/2017

Number: 11

In 2016 I had 5-6 caterpillars that devoured my 2 tiny milkweed plants, so I bought this tall milkweed. Year around I check often for aphids, spider webs, and monarch eggs, easy to do on way to front door. This year we discovered 11 large catepilars on it all at once! They seemed to appear almost overnight (I never saw the eggs). 11+ 1 on another plant =12 larvae. 10 completed the cycle, only 1 casualty, an 1 unaccounted for.
