Observed numerous stalks of Common Milkweed (A. syriaca) and Butterfly Milkweed (A. tuberosa) blooming on Flint Hills tallgrass prairie, during an approximately 21-mile trip along the Skyline Drive Scenic Byway. One stalk of Tall Green Milkweed (A. hirtella) was noted, not blooming yet. No caterpillars or eggs were noted on the plants that were available for examination.
