At least 5 monarchs here today.
There were males and females, more than one at a time. One male had a territorial dispute with a red admiral who had claimed this yard as his 4 days ago. Egg laying was happening.
We were checking for eggs when another female flew in and started to lay more right near us. Another one came later and did the same. We found a total of 25 eggs, but I am sure there is still more there. Our syriaca is so thick it is very hard to search it all.
