Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 07/17/2017

Number: 1

I did not bring my camera but will go back and try to photograph the Monarch again. I believe it was a female flitting from one milkweed plant to another laying eggs. My first sighting was yesterday in my garden. There is a patch of milkweed on the edge of the woods very near my home. I walked there today because I was sure I would see another Monarch and was very pleased that he/she was there. I was unable to sex this Monarch but it appeared to be going from plant to plant laying eggs. I will attempt a confirmation with photos and will report as soon as possible. I'm thrilled to help with this research. I have not seen a Monarch butterfly for years and have been growing organically for over 30 years. I grow plants, herbs and flowers to specifically attract pollinators.
