We live in the RM of Springfield, Manitoba, approx. 15 miles NE of Winnipeg. Today I went to a spot in our yard I don't go to that much, as it is rough terrain, with lots of tall grass, willows, etc. I saw about a dozen pink swamp milkweed plants in bloom. There were no butterflies in the vicinity, though I did see one or two monarchs last month.
