Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 07/18/2017

Number: 1

12:15pm It's a hot, muggy and cloudy day. Rain should arrive shortly. I went outside to take a picture of a black swallowtail feeding on coneflowers. Just as I got close enough to snap a picture a male monarch swooped in and chased the swallowtail all around the yard and over the roof. The swallow tail attempted to come back a couple of times but the Monarch won out. Then he landed on a common milkweed plant to survey his domain.
