Monarch Egg Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 07/18/2017

Number: 1

This egg was laid by a female this is 9th monarch I've seen this season.

It was laid on a fresh milkweed plant just outside the milkweed patch of larger, older plants are growing. I collected it to keep track of generation time.

This eggs will emerge as an adult in about mid-August. It will likely migrate to Mexico and is the will be a great-great grandchild of the generation that left Mexico last spring.
