Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 07/21/2017

Number: 2

CANNOT BELIEVE IT. It pays to have monarch host plants even if you have mostly shade like me. Monarchs lay eggs on my swamp milkweeds but I've only seen eggs and small larvae; however, today I found two larvae (guessed to be in 4th & 5th instar stages). They were at the top-most blooms and possibly ready to become chrysalises.
