Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers

Date: 07/26/2017

Number: 1

Our backyard hummingbird, I think, since we've been seeing her at our feeders regularly, but I finally spotted her nectaring from flowers. It wasn't from the natives, but from a Meyer lemon that I have in a pot in hopes of attracting giant swallowtail butterflies. We try to provide all the favorite flowers and to keep the sugar concentration in
the feeders at 4.5 to 5 to 1 in the summer, so that the bees and hummingbirds won't be lured away from the flowers too much.
