For a month or more I have been checking the milkweed in my sun garden for monarch larvae. Near dusk, I checked again, not expecting to find any. After looking at each common milkweed, I started to leave, but glanced one for time. There under a leaf was a larvae, close to an inch in length. This garden was created just two summers ago as a butterfly garden. Milkweed has been encouraged to grow in hopes of attracting a female monarch! Well, one found the milkweed this summer and I am elated!
