This a.m. a monarch larva emerged from its egg but its rear part was stuck in the egg case. It struggled to free itself. With a mental image of Darwin rolling his eyes, I tried to help holding a magnifying glass and using a 3M post-it note. I couldn't free it but deposited it on a small snippet of swamp milkweed. Hopefully, it will make it.
