I think it's a female- she's being shy and won't let me close. Very interested in the milkweed I planted for them. Also visiting the butterfly bush nearby.
Planted the milkweed a couple of years ago. Usually don't see any in my yard until late August or September.
Last Sept. had a chrysalis, then had to leave the state to see my Mom in Hospice. The chrysalis was empty when I returned home.
