Practice Report (Any Species)

Date: 07/23/2017

Number: 1

Spotted first monarch caterpillar on milkweed. It looked ready to begin chrysalis phase. I usually capture to make sure the cycle doesn't get interrupted, but wanted to show my grandson. We observed it later in the day but it was gone when I looked the following morning. I've been looking in different spots it may have gone but have not seen it yet. My milkweed has many tiny caterpillars and more eggs. I have collected over 100. I worry about assassin bugs and anoles eating them. Please help me if you have a better solution to captivity!
