I am making this report on behalf of Nathan Heath--he says, ".... we usually do not see them (monarchs) on the lake until late July or throughout August. That being said I was on the lake (Erie) this past weds July 26th and spotted a single monarch.... wind speed was 5-10 knots from the South.... I can get you GPS coordinates if you would like, but our approximate location was:
1&1/2 miles north east of the Toledo lighthouse.... which puts us approximately 6-8 miles off shore and 4 miles west of West Sister island. It was flying south, into the wind."
