I checked the very large field in back of our rural post office, where there are plenty of milkweed and other field plants.

Right off I spotted on monarch flying about rapidly. I presume this was a female looking for plants to lay her eggs on, but I did not see her land on any milkweed. Again, this is a very large field - 1/4 football field size.
