Sightings report image

Date: 07/29/2017

Number: 5

Monarchs were mating today. This is the most I've seen in one day in our yard this summer. A large male monarch dive-bombed a mating pair and flew off with them. They landed in the grass for a while and it seemed like he was trying to pry them apart. Then all three still attached flew into a maple tree. A couple minutes later the third one left.
