The heat of summer disappeared in mid Michigan today with an overcast sky, rain, and a cold front dropping the humid 90 degree temperatures to 62 degrees during the day. My hummers provided numerous aerial displays, chases, races, as they played and enjoyed the nectar and flowers. Flowers visited: phlox, foxglove, lilies, monarda, salvia Black and Blue, / Wendy's wish, lantana,coromosis, coral bells, Hibiscus, Impatients. My flowers were almost constantly moving from all their visits. They spent a lot of time enjoying the warm nectar I provided this evening around 7:30.
