I wanted to contribute to the Monarch Monitoring Blitz over this past week. I worked really hard over Friday 8/4 and Saturday 8/5 to check all the milkweed plants in 4 areas of my field. I submitted my results to Monarch Larva Monitoring Project but wanted to submit them here as well.
The total number of Common Milkweed plants I checked in the 4 Milkweed patches of the field was 973 Common Milkweed plants. I knew there were a lot but never thought there were that many! The number of Monarch Caterpillars found was 41.
