Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/06/2017

Number: 20

The Ruby Throat migration may have begun from Canada, or north of me, but this is the height of the season in my neck of the woods. The number and intensity of these critters is nothing less than astounding ! They are true miracles of nature. I see no diminution in numbers at the moment; that usually begins around Labor Day.

For this year to date, I have purchased and fed about 25 pounds of sugar. Last week I bought twenty more pounds and have already put out five of those. Do not know it the remaining fifteen pounds will last the season.

Unbelievable caloric consumption !
