Adult monarch butterfly emerged this afternoon around 2:30 after a cloudy morning with steady rain. Chrysalis was about 5 feet off the ground near the end of a branch in an evergreen shrub that is about 15 feet from nearest milkweed. Afternoon is sunny with temperature in mid-70s and breeze.
