Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 08/07/2017

Number: 1

The insect was prone on the road in front of my house, a small puncture wound in its right wing. I brought it inside and presented it with melon juice in a jar cap. It drank, and drank, and drank...
Meanwhile, I was intensely searching for someone to rehab the insect, as this was not possible for me... After many phone calls, a call to the Lake Champlain Basin Committee people at Echo in Burlington, VT, paid off. The Monarch, now named "Hank," is in good hands, and, we hope, will be able to be released in a few weeks.
