Adults observed during survey of control (unmowed) study plots (600-m long) on dike road (sides). This was shortly after mowing treatment plots four days before.
Lot of adult activity, few eggs and larvae.
Behavior included:
searching, nectaring,courtship (aerial twirling), territorial (including chasing dragon flies, viceroys and even two blackbirds), evasion (mostly females), and patrolling males.
Entertaining survey day!
