Observed a female Monarch butterfly depositing eggs on Swamp Milkweed plants growing in pots in our yard. Found approximately one dozen eggs on nine young plants. Our observations of elevated Monarch butterfly abundance and substantially increased amount of egg deposition in our part of western New York this summer is very encouraging!
