Sightings report image

Date: 08/16/2017

Number: 18

Visited Point Pelee National Park today from 10:30 am to around 1:30. Observed about 17 monarchs, all but 1 flitting due south on west shore toward the Tip; one flitting north.
We walked West Beach Path down to Tip...walked both sides of Tip. Did not observe any Monarchs south of Tip parking lot. All had been seen on walk from West beach parking lot south to Tip parking lot. (See Map photos) None were nectaring.
Captured pics of 2 that settled on foliage....both male. All appeared pristine...no fading noticed.
Did have one faded male patrolling at our home & he did stop to nectar on butterfly bush.
Clear blue cloudless sky, 28°c with moderate easterly wind at Tip.
