I was watering my zinnias, and I saw a shadow flutter over them and when I looked up it was a Monarch butterfly! Rather than going to the flowers, she landed on a tropical milkweed leaf and laid an egg! She went around my 10+ tropical milkweeds and on my balloon milkweed and laid eggs. So happy! I've been waiting all summer. I didn't find any eggs on my butterfly milkweed, I guess it was because they were infested with aphids and were also dying down.
