In the space of less than 5 minutes we saw 3 Monarchs travel across our path flying Southwest while we were driving East on Highway 401. Approximately 17:45. Hot and humid 27C. Weather was just clearing after rainy afternoon. Look out Point Pelee! Monarchs are back big time in our region this summer. We see an average of one per day with some days as high as eight or nine. However, this is the first time I have noted directional flight Southwest.
