Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 08/20/2017

Number: 2

Have seen 2 at once on the zinnias. A Close up observation looks like it is a Queen, not a Monarch, or a Queen MOnarch. HAVE been unable to observe very closely both at the same time to determine whether both are Queens or Monarch. I have Tens of other little BF's about 1" at their longest. They are orangist, like painted ladies and MOnarchs.
For the past 2 months, I have had 2-5 white BFs in my garden at all times... I would venture to guess that they are Cabbage Whites or perhaps Clouded Sulphers; but am unable to get closer look.
what do these names mean? Gossomer Wings, Brush Footed BFs, Skippers? what are the defining characteristics of each?
Any info you can provide any info, it would be greatly appreciated. ry5058@gmail.com
