Saw what I am pretty sure was a Monarch among wildflowers about 1/2-1 mile above Paradise Lodge on Mt. Rainer. Could not see the gender but it was large and colored like a Monarch and I know of no other butterfly like this. BUT, I have never heard of them at this altitude????
