Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 08/20/2017

Number: 1

On Aug 20th, I rescued a Monarch caterpillar from a freshly cut stand of milkweed in Elizaville, NY near the diner and transported it (as it clung to and ate an increasingky desiccated milkweed sprig) to my neighbor's miilkweed garden, It was clinging to the underside of a milkweed plant in said garden as of late afternoon Aug 21st. The picture shows it on a living milkweed plant. It is a good sized caterpillar.
