Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/20/2017

Number: 100

The migration is on in full swing! We are seeing hundreds of hummingbirds during the morning AND afternoon, including adult males and countless females and young. Our 7 30-ounce feeders (210 ounces!) last only about a day and a half. We're adding two more 30-ounce feeders tomorrow. We have four large areas of Turk's Cap and a large tropical honeysuckle in full bloom. All are seeing heavy traffic.

The birds "stack up" in our apple, bald cypress and Bradford pear trees, noisily awaiting their turn to get in line at the feeders. It's INCREDIBLE this year!!

If only I'd bought stock in one of the sugar companies.......
