Since early August I regularly see one or two monarchs whenever I go out. I have raised about 5 on my porch since I harvested milkweed which had eggs and they have gone on to complete their cycle. All I did was to provide them with a new milkweed stem every 4 or 5 days.
I used two wonderfully energetic caterpillars on August 1 at our Environmental Advisory Councils exhibit during National Night Out. They were rock stars admired by probably 100 people and went on to make their chrysalis and fly away.
