Hummingbird Sighting (Adult Male)

Date: 08/23/2017

Number: 1

This male has been here all summer. There are a few females, but they don't stay in the tree near the feeder. The male feeds, and then goes up to a limb he's perched in all summer long. Hope he is in good- enough health to make the trip down south! When he first came to the feeders, he looked like he had ben dipped in oil! His feathers were all matted and he looked sick. It took almost a month for his feathers to look "normal." But he fed at the feeders and perched on a branch within the window's view for the past 2 months. I'll hate to see him go - but hope he joins the crowd and enjoys his time in the south.
