Working the gardens and birding all day which gave me a front seat at the Monarch migration. These butterflies came over a period of 5 hours, one at a time. Most were on the way to "somewhere" but one stopped on the sunflowers for a moment. A second one stopped to rest on the maple tree. It was there for about 15 minutes or so and then it, too, was gone. One year we had a gathering on this old maple and I am watching and waiting for it to happen again.l
