Five caterpillars around third Instar on three milkweed plants in my yard.
I rescued them to my hatchery for further observation and future release as butterflies which occurred between August 6-9.
Of these five, one did not eclose, instead the chrysalis turned black. This was a female. Of the four remaining, three were female and one was male.
