Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/26/2017

Number: 1

Usual busy daybreak feeding throughout the yard. All the feeders are in use, but the front one continues to be the most popular - I just watched the sentry male keep three females away from "his" feeder ... with a chickadee having a sip of water from the ant moat above! This feeder was the first location I used when I bought the house, but that was more than 25 years ago ... could it be? Who knows, but this was a funny sight, with a beautiful sunrise this chilly 49* morning as a backdrop.

Meanwhile, the other four feeders around the yard are being used by other hummers w/o interruption, as are the many nectar flowers and shrubs...gotta love nature and all its marvels!
