ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICANT BLACK SWALLOWTAIL in the zinnias!!! Absolutely PERFECT! LOWER wings has orange on the outside and blue on the inside, with the beautiful swallow tails in perfect form. this must have been a young BF as it was highly energetic! no damaged wings. I followed round a bit and then another magnificent BF appeared, perhaps it was a really very very ornate painted lady??? beautiful! perfect in form and color. after a brief appearance, it disappeared into the jungle of zinnias never to be seen again. after a few minutes, an absolutely PERFECT monarch appeared It too was so perfect, it must be young. Sadly, My phone was out of juice and I was unable to capture their pics. It's charged and I'm going back out now to see if they are still there!
What a day for BF's! 3 absolutely exquisite BF in my garden at the same time!
Life is really good!
