Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/28/2017

Number: 20

We are on the northern fringe of Hurricane Harvey, which is centered about 50 miles south. This may have stalled the migration, which appears to have begun a week or so ago.

The number of ruby-throated hummers has more than doubled, and they are swarming the feeders, even while it rains continuously. We have gone from two to five feeders to keep the confrontations down.
