Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers

Date: 08/27/2017

Number: 2

This is the first time all summer I have seen two hummingbirds feeding at the same time. Around here, the birds are extremely territorial. Also, I believe these are migrating through, and that my summner regular has moved on. I say this because my regular always sits on the highest electrical wire, divebombing any other bird brazen enough to approach the yard. Lately, the new bird (or birds) perch right on the shepherd's hook supporting the feeder, feed, perch, fly to a nearby tree, feed, perch, visit the flowers, perch some more. They stay in the garden for 20 minutes at a time, actively feeding.
VERY different behaviors from my summer resident.
