One fresh female nectaring on large patch of Verbena bonaris in my neighbor's yard.
Still no eggs found on my milkweed--tropical, swamp, common, and balloon plants all available. (I have not seen any males in the last month and this is only the second sighting of a female in that period.) I am encouraged that I have had 4 sightings of monarchs this summer after 3 or more years of no wild adults seen. But I have not had any eggs laid this summer. I will try to raise monarchs again next summer by purchasing some caterpillars to raise from a reputable source. I was unable to raise any this summer due to other obligations.
