I'm so bummer the tachinid fly is killing all my cats.

I've seen 3 make it to cocoon and they were dead.
Next yr. I'm not planting milkweed and see if one year will make a difference.
Anyone know how to get rid of the fly?
I put the cocoons in baggies and froze them before putting in trash!
