Two hummers have been frequenting my backyard in San Marcos, CA. In fact, they have been in my yard all summer seeking nectar from my Lantana bush/flowers. I know there are two as they will 'chase one another' in and around the flowers. I assume hummers are territorial. They are not afraid of me; they fly right in front of my face as if to say "Thanks for all the flowers."
I have had several nests in my citrus trees; able to see the egg and eventually the small hummer! Absolutely a wonderful experience to witness.
