Only about 30 roosting fall migrants were seen in loosely scattered clusters in a tall grove of of trees adjacent to a large field of blooming red clover. Indicates the population of fall migrants in northwestern Iowa is relatively low this year. I couldn't find any caterpillars on roadside milkweeds either.
