Stopped along side of E.Arcade road to find some fresh milkweed for one small larvae I am trying to raise. (It may be sick, as it has been just slowly wandering in the cage and not eating for about 5 days now.)
I got the milkweed and found two large (1.5 inches long) monarch larvae. It has been unseasonably chilly here, so I decided to "rescue" these two and rear them at home, where temp. will be warmer and they will be able to develop more quickly. Time is running out - these larvae need to transform into beautiful strong monarch butterflies. They have a long trip to make.
