Wow ! 100 + fourth instar caterpillars collected at this site full of small milkweed plants (it was mowed @ July 4). Right next to a main 2-lane road. Some plants had 2 cats to a LEAF - like picking fruit, they were so abundant :) Made us giddy to find so many. Some hanging already (Sat. Sept 2.) Would be great to crowd-fund this small site ( less than 1/2 an acre ) & save it for the Monarchs-and other wild critters !
