these guys were zooming all around the flower garden, up to four or five at once, chirping and fencing each other in the air at times, sometimes hiding in the undergrowth, or taking refuge in nearby black walnut or crab apple tree. They had shiny green backs and dull brown fronts, the ones I saw closely.
