early afternoon we saw 6 monarchs heading south along lake superior. later this afternoon at home 4 nectared on joe-pye-weed, 6 on sunflowers and 1 flew overhead without stopping-heading south along the shore of lake superior. it felt like old times standing near them and watching so many at once.
